Jordan Larson is headed to her 3rd Olympics with Team USA volleyball. She was gifted with athleticism and a competitive spirit, but that in itself isn’t what got her to the Olympic team. Over the past 12 years Jordan has had to adapt and evolve her routines and self-care to ensure that she can continue to perform at the highest level. This longevity has also given her the opportunity to grow as a teammate and leader.
As the team’s veteran, Jordan has seen her role morph from being a naïve individual contributor, to a vocal leader that others look up to. Jordan says that focusing on what you can control, showing up consistently, and giving your best are the keys to success.
Jordan credits her team and support structure for the success she has seen. In this episode she discusses:
- How to maintain a high level of competition over time
- Leadership 101 - Everyone is different, and you need to learn and adapt in order to impact them
- You don’t have to be great - focus on being consistently good
- The importance of taking time off
- Being intentional with connecting with your teammates

With over 17 years of marketing experience on both the agency and
client side, Nina Cashman has built successful products and brands for
national companies throughout her career. She believes that the most
important brand you can build is your own. This requires full awareness
of personal values and acceptance of current capabilities, as well as a
sincere belief that anything is possible. Whether corporate brands or
personal brands, the most successful brands are created by people who
pave their own unique paths and listen to their own hearts above
anything else.
As the former Director of Corporate Marketing for a publicly traded
travel & leisure company, Nina came to the realization that her greatest
successes extended far beyond driving consistent double-digit growth
for the brands she managed. Her biggest accomplishment was witnessing
the growth, connection, collaboration, and achievement that transpired
when her teams felt fully empowered to perform at their best.
Recognizing her true passion to build people over products, Nina left
corporate marketing in 2014 to pursue her passion. Now she is
paving her own path as a professional coach who specializes in career
growth and development, leadership, team building, and individual
branding.
In this episode we Nina discusses:
- How to connect with the truth of who you are.
- Everyone has their own path; you have to pave yours in the way that’s right for you.
- Having a willingness to start over.
