At the age 23 Danny Heinsohn had what most would consider a pretty typical American life. He was about to graduate college, had plans to take a trip abroad, and was looking forward to starting a career upon his return. That is, until he was diagnosed with brain cancer.
In a flash, all of his goals, hopes, and dreams were put on hold. He now had to face the ultimate roadblock. After a successful surgery that resulted in the removal of a tumor the size of a tennis ball, Danny no longer found himself an athletic 23 year. Instead, he was on the road to recovery where he had to relearn simple tasks such as talking, walking, and tying his shoes.
Fast forward 20 years later, Danny has finished an iron man, taken that trip abroad, become a nationally recognized sales coach, an author, and even started a non-profit that gives cancer survivors college scholarships.
What happens when your entire life is flipped upside down in an instant? How do you turn a seemingly hopeless situation into a successful journey?
Lets find out.
In this episode Danny discusses:
- Surviving cancer is lonely, but you don’t have to do it alone.
- Power of choice - do you live through love or do you live through fear?
- Gratitude created a reason to fight. Danny didn’t want to let anyone down.
- You have to have a vision and know that you can make it happen, even when no one else can see it.
- How to leverage pain to initiate positive change.
