Jordan Larson is headed to her 3rd Olympics with Team USA volleyball. She was gifted with athleticism and a competitive spirit, but that in itself isn’t what got her to the Olympic team. Over the past 12 years Jordan has had to adapt and evolve her routines and self-care to ensure that she can continue to perform at the highest level. This longevity has also given her the opportunity to grow as a teammate and leader.
As the team’s veteran, Jordan has seen her role morph from being a naïve individual contributor, to a vocal leader that others look up to. Jordan says that focusing on what you can control, showing up consistently, and giving your best are the keys to success.
Jordan credits her team and support structure for the success she has seen. In this episode she discusses:
- How to maintain a high level of competition over time
- Leadership 101 - Everyone is different, and you need to learn and adapt in order to impact them
- You don’t have to be great - focus on being consistently good
- The importance of taking time off
- Being intentional with connecting with your teammates
